No great distance to the great outdoors
Given that Austin is such an outdoor-friendly city, the fact that Westover Hills is surrounded by natural splendor is one reason it reflects the city's character. Whitetail deer roam freely throughout the area, and both Steck Valley Greenbelt and Bull Creek Greenbelt can be found at the neighborhood’s western edge. Both parks provide miles of hiking trails and opportunities for observing wildlife. And because both greenbelts and much of the additional land west of Capital of Texas Highway fall under the protection of the Balcones Canyonlands Conservation Plan, nature lovers can rest easy knowing that the undeveloped areas will remain so and will always be there for those times when communing with nature and enjoying the outdoors is part of a day’s plan.
