Walkable, quiet and well-positioned
The community of Cameron Village is flanked by Dewees Park to the west and Chinquapin Run Park to the east, a rare occurrence for a neighborhood in North Baltimore. Residents live in row homes with front and backyard space, extending to wide sidewalks for locals to stroll along. “What attracts people to the area is the fact that it’s a walkable neighborhood,” explains Daisha Gregory, a local Realtor with Long & Foster Real Estate. “But it’s also pretty quiet. People really like being so close to major arteries like York Road, and it’s close to universities like Loyola.” Just a few miles from popular spots like Belvedere Square and massive employers like Johns Hopkins University, residents are well-positioned to experience the city without being entirely immersed in it.
Classic brick row homes with yard space
The red brick row homes of Cameron Village are classic in Baltimore, constructed in the midcentury with short, roofed front porches and decorative metal awnings. These homes were designed to sit back from the street, with front lawns that some residents choose to garden or landscape. Priced between $150,000 and $225,000, properties typically have backyard space, too, making for a comfortable, green neighborhood. Street parking is available along curved residential avenues, though some developments have small parking lots or cemented backyard space for optional parking.
The red brick rowhome is ubiquitous throughout Cameron Village.

Less than a mile from Belvedere Square
Both Shoppers and Family Dollar are located off The Alameda, the closest stops for the essentials. Giant, Lidl and Safeway are all within 3 miles, however, along with Belvedere Square. This market is well-known across the city for its diverse eateries and shops. “The market is right there in the neighborhood, maybe 5 blocks away,” Gregory says. “It’s literally within walking distance, and it’s practically a smaller-scale Union Market.” From fresh-squeezed juice to smoked sandwiches and Korean BBQ, guests have plenty of options to choose from after perusing the fresh flowers. Over the summer, guests can even enjoy a summer concert series on Friday nights in the courtyard.
Cameron Village residents can shop for the essentials at Shoppers.

Parks to the east and west
Dewees Park is an 18-acre green space with athletic fields, basketball courts, a playground and an urban garden where residents can rent their own plots. But on the other side of Chinquapin Run is its titular park, more than quadruple the size of Dewees. Extending along the Chinquapin Stream Corridor—a major tributary to nearby Herring Run and a part of the larger Back River Watershed—this stream’s lush plant life and dense tree coverage make for beautiful walks and picnics. Featuring a playground, athletic fields and tennis courts, residents can take pride in having this expansive park in their backyard.

GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
