A walkable and affordable place to live
Bordered on its east side by a park of the same name, Chinquapin Park is a residential community with ample proximity to retailers and restaurants on its west end. This small suburban patchwork rests just six miles from Downtown Baltimore, with a food court within walking distance and several schools not much farther. “It’s a great community,” says India Whitlock, Realtor with Madison Mason Home Group. “It’s quiet, family-friendly, and there are a lot of schools in the area.” The movie theater and shopping center near the food court offer indoor weekend fun as an alternative to the park. “It’s affordable, walkable, and not too far from Charles Village or MSU,” says Whitlock.
Traditional Baltimore rowhouses
Chinquapin Park’s homes rest along planned streets just wide enough to accommodate street parkers. The three- and four-bedroom single-family homes appear as either bungalows or more modest, traditional Baltimore rowhouses featuring red brick facades, short front stoops and decorative awnings. Visitors will notice that some rowhouses appear in threes and fours, nestled adjacent, while others retain the same architecture but are more spread out. For this reason, yard sizes differ from smaller plots to standard ones fit for a decorative tree or two. Pricing in this neighborhood falls below the national average, with most homes ranging between $210,000 and $300,000. The more expensive single-family dwellings typically fetch a larger and more private yard space.
