The neighborhood is defined by its compact brick rowhouses, some of which date back to the late 19th century and some of which have been built within the last decade. Prices range from the upper $200,000s to the lower $700,000s, varying by square footage, age and amenities. “Locust Point is known more for the architecture; it features really nice condominiums, in addition to the Baltimore classic rowhouses,” says James Baldwin, a Realtor with Compass, with over 18 years of experience serving the greater Baltimore area. “Some feature attached garages, which make homes a bit larger, and are convenient for folks who want garage parking.” Buyers can also find Contemporary-style condos ranging from the lower $300,000s to the upper $700,000s, with some offering luxury amenities like private balconies and 24-hour front desk service.

Places to play at Latrobe Park, and the historic Fort McHenry

Latrobe Park is Locust Point’s main green space, offering baseball and soccer fields, a dog park and courts for basketball, tennis and beach volleyball. Perched on the eastern shore of Locust Point is the Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine, a military base that successfully repelled a British naval fleet during the War of 1812, saving the city of Baltimore from invasion. The victory at Fort McHenry inspired Francis Scott Key to write the poem that would become America’s national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner. Today, guests can tour the fort’s grounds, learn about the history of the battle and take a nature hike around the mile-long Seawall Trail loop surrounding the “Baltimore Bastille.”
