Homes with yards in Baltimore City
Prospective homeowners will have plenty to choose from in this densely populated urban neighborhood, from 1950s cinderblock units and traditional Baltimore row houses to recently constructed multifamily and townhouse options. Row houses here generally sit back from the street and feature covered front porches, small lawns and single-vehicle driveways, while detached homes boast larger front and back yards with space for gardens and landscaping. Depending on the age and size of the property, prices here can vary from $125,000 to upwards of $250,000. “You can pick up a decent house here for a more favorable price than the county side,” Booz says. “It’s a nice, quiet little area, especially for someone who’s looking for their first home or investment property.”Green space and exercise in the Heights
At Cimaglia Park at Fort Holabird, a 2-mile trip south of the neighborhood, residents can spend some time outdoors amidst the rush of Baltimore’s east side. The park features two baseball diamonds and several basketball courts where locals get together for pickup games on weekends, as well as a paved walking trail that traces the course of Colgate Creek. One mile further on, Saint Helena Park offers a dog park where furry companions have a chance to stretch their legs.Education in O’Donnell Heights

Students may then apply to any Baltimore City public high school that best suits their needs. The closest option to the neighborhood is Patterson High, also a C-minus, where the basketball team recently won the regional championship.Nightlife in Charm City
The Baltimore Comedy Factory, which routinely features stand-up from nationally renowned comedians, is less than a 10-minute walk from most of the neighborhood. Residents can also hop on the CityLink Navy line bus and be at nightlife destination Fells Point in just under 25 minutes. A little further on, Baltimore’s Inner Harbor beckons. Locals rub shoulders with tourists as they explore the National Aquarium or cheer on the Orioles at Camden Yards. From the Heights to the Harbor
Bus lines thread through O’Donnell Heights, with the CityLink Navy line providing direct access to the Inner Harbor and Camden Yards in just over 30 minutes. Residents also enjoy easy access to Interstate 95, which connects the community to Baltimore Washington International Airport 15 miles south. “You’re close to Canton, I-95, Dundalk and Essex,” Booz says. If you want to go downtown, you just go through the tunnel and you’re there. You can get anywhere in the city from O’Donnell Heights.”Pizza and seafood in East Baltimore
O’Donnell Heights is just 1.5 miles from The Shops at Canton Crossing, where residents can shop for groceries at Harris Teeter and purchase other household necessities at Target. Further options can be found 2 miles east on German Hill Road at Dundalk Plaza, home to Giant Food and Harbor Freight Tools. Quick bites and casual eateries can be found along Holabird Avenue, as can Vinny’s Italian Café. This family-owned and operated restaurant has been a community staple since 1999 and offers $1 oysters and draft Peroni beer every Thursday. Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, just down the road, is a chef-driven restaurant that offers the option to ship some of Maryland’s best crab cakes nationwide. “I’ve said it before, but nobody has food like the pizza shops and sub shops on that side of Baltimore,” Booz says. “Vinny’s has the biggest slices of pizza you’ve ever seen, probably a foot long or bigger. Between them and Jimmy’s, which have both been there forever, you can’t get much better.”
