With scenic Trinity Bay vistas, Beach City is both a waterfront oasis and peaceful retreat. Located about 12 miles from Baytown, this small Texas community stretches several miles along a peninsula, with several subdivisions that divide the city. Agnes Casamiro, real estate professional with Texas Homestead Realty and longtime resident of Beach City, says, “I love that it’s a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The community is really nice, and the property value is great compared to other waterfront properties in the area.” Many neighborhoods throughout the city are gated, providing residents with additional security and little-to-no through traffic. Homes throughout Beach City tend to be priced higher than homes in neighboring Baytown, due in part to two main factors: proximity to the water and spacious lots that many homes sit on. You can find a single-level home that sits on several acres of land for $550,000, but there are also homes that sell for upward of $1 million, including waterfront estates that’ll give you undisturbed bay vistas. Casamiro adds, “You can catch fish or blue crabs right from your front yard if you want, and there’s no HOA fees, so you can use your spacious yard however you’d like.” Most of the communities are set in a country-like setting, with long stretches of road and an absence of sidewalks. Homes are often spaced a good distance away from each other.

Though most of the community is secluded, there’s plenty of activity in the surrounding areas of the peninsula. Beach City is bordered by an expansive industrial district to the west, with several steel and distribution centers taking up much of the central areas of the peninsula. To the north, you’ll find RWJ Airpark, a privately owned public-use airport, which means residents might hear the occasional flyover noise.

For a day outdoors, residents can head to McCollum Park, which offers scenic bay views and plenty of spaces for an afternoon picnic or a barbecue with family. If you want to cool off during the summertime, you can take a dip in the water, and there are also spots for fishing. Parents can take their children to the playground area for some afternoon fun after school lets out. There are also parks nearby, including Mont Belvieu City Park, which is about 9 miles away.

Parents living in the community will likely enroll their children in public schools in the Barbers Hill Independent School District. Most of the schools in the district are located in neighboring Mont Belvieu, and many students will start their education at either Barbers Hill Elementary North or South. After graduating from primary school, students may attend Barbers Hill Intermediate School North, which has an overall A rating from Niche, followed by Barbers Hill High School, which has an overall A-minus rating. The high school boasts a student-teacher ratio of 14-to-1, meaning students will get plenty of attention and help from their teachers.

Tri City Beach Road is the main thoroughfare for most of the city and allows access to state route 99. Most residents in this area will likely drive to get around as there isn’t much public transportation around. You won’t have to go too far to get some groceries or get a bite to eat with Baytown nearby. There are options close by, as well, whether you want chicken or pork cracklins from Devillier Boudin or catching a live performance while enjoying a drink at The Barn.

Living in Beach City provides the seclusion of a waterfront getaway with proximity to plenty of amenities.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
