Tokyo Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar is one popular spot, which serves hand-carved steaks and seafood prepared tableside in an energetic atmosphere. Regional chains Lupe Tortilla and Floyds Seafood are other local favorites, the former serving homemade tortillas and frozen margaritas and the latter offering Gulf Coast-style steaks and crawfish etouffee. Most get their groceries at the H-E-B in downtown Beaumont and do the rest of their shopping at Parkdale Mall, Beaumont’s premier shopping destination. Six miles north of the neighborhood, the hub houses essentially every major retailer and is surrounded by big box chains like Walmart, Best Buy and Lowe’s.
