Rogers Park Community Center is directly in the community and has a playground, splash zone, tennis courts and a basketball court. Residents can rent out the building for any parties or events they are hosting. Gulf Terrace Park has an almost 4-mile cement walking trail and pond. The Oaks Shopping Mall is a strip mall home to World Gym, which is open 24 hours, and several other stores — including the comic book store Comic Kingdom. Painting With a Twist is also in the mall and hosts weekly events, inviting people to create artwork while sipping wine. Amelia Farm and Market is a family-owned farm on a 100-year-old pecan orchard. The farm began in 1916 and used to be a restaurant but is now being promoted as a large event venue. The Bayou Café is one of the finest New Orleans-style restaurants in the area. For those seeking fun, there is B&B Arcade and Cotton Creek Winery, offering weekly wine tastings. Additionally, Thirsty’s is a bar in the area where locals can grab a drink and unwind.
