Country Club Park
Golf 18 holes or head to nearby parks and playgrounds
Maryland Golf & Country Clubs dates back to 1961. This 18-hole golf course and members’ facilities include a pool, clubhouse, bar and an outdoor patio for events and daily sitting. The club also hosts member events and tournaments throughout the year. When not catching a game at the high school during football season, families can head to nearby parks and playgrounds like Lyn Stacie Getz Playground or Colonial Acres.Annie’s Playground, named to honor the memory of a former resident, is one of the largest playgrounds in the country. It is located at Edgeley Grove Park, just south of Winters Run Golf Course and the Harford Equestrian Center. The Ma and Pa Trail is a long rail trail for bikers and walkers that runs throughout Bel Air, and locals can access it at one of a few entry points.
Mid-century and Colonial-inspired homes and spacious lots
Country Club Park’s housing includes a mix of Colonial and midcentury styles. Raised ranch homes and split-levels mingle with stately modern Traditionals on spacious lots. “The entry point for home prices here is around $280,000 to $300,000, and then houses can go all the way up to about $800,000,” says Mark Novak, a Realtor with Mark’s Home Team of Cummings & Co. Realtors. Large driveways, fenced yards, private pools and views of the golf course are common here. Streets have slow-moving traffic and end in quiet cul-de-sacs. Most homes cost between $450,000 and $800,000 and often have four or more bedrooms and plenty of garage space. Some homes that are closer to the course are pricier. “Homes around the Maryland Golf and Country Club can easily go for $1.2 to $1.5 million,” Novak says.Nearby Bel Air Main Street and the Harford Mall
Several shopping centers, outlet malls and locally owned businesses are near Country Club Park. South of most homes are the shops and restaurants in Emmorton, including one local favorite, Pairings Bistro. This fine-dining restaurant is part of the Village Market and Cafe, which also serves breakfast and has its own food truck. ShopRite, Marshalls and Kohl’s are just down the road.North in Bel Air proper is the city’s bustling Main Street, which is home to famous spots like Looney’s Pub. Folks from Baltimore drive north to enjoy live music that rotates throughout the week at Looney’s, as well as to sample their craft beers and pub food. “There are tons of great restaurants in Bel Air,” Novak says. “Like Lib’s Grill, Hickory Lodge, Barret’s on the Pike, and one of my personal favorites would be 111 Main.”
The Harford Mall is just down the road off the Baltimore Pike and has dozens of familiar stores. Surrounding it are major strips like Tollgate Marketplace, which is home to Barnes & Noble, Michaels, Dick’s Sporting Goods and The Home Depot.
