As for crime, Berkeley Heights is considered a safe neighborhood as the CAP Index gave it a 1 out of 10 Crime Score, the lowest score a neighborhood can receive.

A grades across the board for the Berkeley Heights Public School District

Children in the neighborhood may attend the Berkeley Heights Public School District, which earned an A grade from Niche, including an A-plus grade in academics, teachers and college prep. As a part of that district, students would attend William Woodruff Elementary School for kindergarten through second grade before moving on to Thomas P. Hughes Elementary School for third through fifth grade. Both of these schools earned an A grade from Niche. From the Watchung Reservation to the Berkely Heights Community Pool

Nestled in the Watchung Mountains of Union County, large swaths of nature surround Berkeley Heights. There's the Watchung Reservation, the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge and Passaic River County Park. There is always something going on in Berkeley Heights. Traditions are everything, like the annual Fest of Our Lady Mt. Carmel. For over 110 years, this festival has brought together residents of Berkeley Heights for carnival rides, games, live entertainment, food and drinks.
