Midcentury builds beside new custom homes
Bradmoor is an entirely residential area in north-central Bethesda, save for a few parks and bus stops. Sidewalks and mature trees line its winding neighborhood streets, where roughly 1,300 people live in sizeable, stately homes built across several decades. “It’s common for people to make additions on their houses or even tear down an old house and build a new one on the lot because they want to stay in the neighborhood,” Sitrin says. While the average single-family home here is over 5,000 square feet, many midcentury builds, including ramblers, offer sub-2,000-square-foot plans. Home values range from $1 million to over $2.3 million, varying by square footage and age. Toward the low end of that price range, buyers can find brick colonial and split-level houses built as far back as the late 1950s, often with around 1,500 square feet. New millennium mansions in New Traditional and Craftsman-style styles tend to be priced on the higher end. Homeowners here love to adorn their lawns with shrubs and gardens. Halloween is a serious occasion for folks around Bethesda, and Bradmoor residents typically venture to Huntington Terrace to see the most detailed spooky lawn decorations.Locals stroll along the Bethesda Trolley Trail

Further east is the Greenwich Neighborhood Park, with a playground, basketball and tennis courts and a pavilion under a dense tree canopy.Acclaimed Montgomery County Public Schools nearby

With over 1,400 students, Pyle is among the county’s largest middle schools. Bradley Hills Elementary and Pyle Middle both have A-ratings from Niche, while Walt Whitman High School gets an A-plus.
