Bridlewood

Bridlewood has brick ranch-style and split-level homes at affordable prices
Bridlewood's streets gently roll over a hilly and forested suburban landscape. Architecture typically follows ranch-style and split-level design conventions. "The houses are very reasonably priced," says Alexia Mccall, a Birmingham local and an Associate Broker at EXP Realty with 5 years of experience. "Lots of brick houses, a lot of homes have basements and garages, so you get a lot of bang for your buck here." There are also some townhome and apartment communities closer to Carson Road. Most people in Bridlewood own their homes, though there are some renters. Prices typically range from $95,000 for a smaller townhome or ranch-style house to $200,000 for a renovated split-level home.Unique career academies at Birmingham City Schools and Jefferson State Community College

All three schools received C-minus scores on Niche. Residents can grab the essentials from national supermarket chains like Walmart and Birmingham chains like Food Giant. Shopping centers like Center Point Shopping Mall are home to retailers such as Heaven Cent Thrift, a family-owned and operated thrift store that supports crisis pregnancy centers. Zatie's Southern Cuisine patrons enjoy oxtail, collard greens and other soul food staples in a casual, family-owned restaurant. Just down the road from Zatie's is Costa's Bar B Que, a no-frills barbeque joint serving heaping helpings of tender chicken, beef and pork cuts. Residents are also just 8 miles from Trussville, home to shopping and dining options such as Ferus Artisan Ales. "It's a really cool little bar," says Mccall, "They've got this outdoor amphitheater that people can enjoy. They've got a lot of bands and activities for the kids, too."East Pinson Valley Recreation Center hosts the Bridlewood Neighborhood Association
