Most buyers are gonna be investors.” Homes in the area were built around 1947 and are in the ranch, bungalow and Arts and Crafts styles. Many homes feature porches used to sit and socialize during hot summer days. Homes range in price from $20,000 to $120,000. “There is lots of renovation in the area,” says Watkins. “The neighborhood is part of a revitalization plan in Birmingham.” Neighborhoods in the West End are undergoing a mixed-use development effort by the city of Birmingham.
