Another place near the neighborhood to walk, jog or take a bike ride is Constitution Trail. There are also sports leagues in the neighborhood for kids to join. The Bloomington Knockers Youth Football and Cheer Organization, a community staple since 1957, is a local favorite for youth sports.

For grocery shopping, Kroger and Jewel-Osco offer convenient locations. “Everything is close to Veterans Parkway, which is close to food,” Zavitz says. “Everything in Bloomington is 20 minutes from one side of town to the other.”
Among the area's most frequented restaurants, Flingers Pizza Pub is a popular spot for craft pizza and wings. Maggie Miley’s brings a taste of Ireland to the area with traditional dishes such as Irish beef stew, corned beef and cabbage, complemented by a selection of Irish whiskey and draught beer. For a more casual dining experience with a twist, Gill Street Sports Bar and Restaurant pairs drinks and axe throwing. Zavitz also enjoys dining at Ancho & Agave, a traditional Mexican restaurant with renowned margaritas. “I go for the margaritas and the hors d'oeuvres. They’ve got a variety — three or four different salsas, three or four guacamoles,” Zavitz says.
