Broken Sound Club’s luxurious lifestyle in Boca Raton
Broken Sound Club is a luxurious gated community in Boca Raton with spacious homes, high-end restaurants and award-winning recreational facilities. Originally established in 1978, Broken Sound Club’s claim to fame was its 18-hole golf course that saw many professional debuts during the PGA Tour. Since then, the club has undergone a multi-million-dollar makeover that includes an updated clubhouse, additional dining options and a new golf course. “The whole club has been totally renovated in the last three years,” says Susan Schaevitz, a real estate agent with Lang Realty. “Broken Sound has always been known as a very member-friendly community.”
Two golf courses, an aquatic center and Moonstone Spa
The county club features not one, but two 18-hole golf courses within the community. The old course has over 80 bunkers and a 300-yard driving range, while the new championship course has an academy where PGA professionals provide on-site instruction. There are over 20 tennis courts, four pickleball courts and a basketball half-court at the community clubhouse. The aquatic center has swimming pools, water slides and a playground with a splash pad and a jungle gym. Many club members also visit the Moonstone Spa for its hot tubs, steam rooms and new 7,000-square-foot fitness center. “We have all of the facilities for massages, manicures and pedicures," Schaevitz says. “We have a beautiful gym, a little children’s play area and activities including aerobics, exercise classes and Pilates.”
Five dining options ranging from smash burgers to stir fry
There are five on-site restaurants where residents can dine at. CIRQ Grille and Bar serves prime New York strip steak and shrimp bucatini in a lounge-like setting, while Zest Restaurant offers sushi, dim sum and stir-fry. Bistro is located right by the pool area and has smash burgers, sandwiches and build-your-own pizzas, and Moonstone Cafe offers sweet treats alongside its freshly-brewed coffee beverages. 1401 East is an Italian steakhouse with panoramic views of the old golf course, serving elevated fare such as seared scallops, grilled lamb chops and lobster ravioli. There are also a few shopping centers surrounding the club with grocery stores such as Publix and The Fresh Market.
Lakefront villas and luxurious estates
The main road loops around the community and leads into several subdivisions with roundabouts and dead ends. “We have 27 different villages,” Schaevitz says. “It’s a very large variety of small homes, villas and estates that can range from the $200,000 all the way up to the millions.” Smaller townhomes, condos and villas range between $200,000 and $400,000. Larger lakefront homes feature Mediterranean architecture and Spanish-tile roofs, and some of them also have their own gardens, palm trees and pools. Prices can range from $400,000 to upwards of $900,000. Luxurious resort-style estates come with additional features such as gated entrances, walk-in closets and private guest houses and can cost $1 million to $3.2 million.
Golf tournaments, pool parties and movie nights
The club hosts many golf tournaments throughout the year. One of those is the James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational, which has over 70 PGA professionals competing on the old course for a grand prize of over $2 million. The club also hosts a few family-friendly events throughout the year, including pool parties, carnivals, fishing contests, cooking classes and movie nights.
Boca Raton’s buses, hospitals and international airports
Club members have access to carts that make it easy to get around on the golf courses and the main club area. There are also several bus stops to the east along North Military Trail that can take passengers to Palm Beach Gardens over 30 miles north. The Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital is open for 24 hours and is around 5 miles southeast. Palm Beach International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport are both over 25 miles away. The CAP index crime score is 2 out of 10, which lower than the national average of 4.
A-rated Palm Beach County schools
Students in the community go to the Palm Beach County School District, which earns an A-minus on Niche. Calusa Elementary School sits to the north of the neighborhood and offers free breakfast and lunch throughout the school year, earning an A-minus. Omni Middle School earns an A-minus and has a biomedical health academy. Spanish River Community High School sits west of the neighborhood and has special academies for biotechnology, law and entrepreneurship, earning an A-plus.
