An active 55-plus community
Century Village-Boca Raton, one of four Century Village Real Estate developments in South Florida, is a gated, 55-plus condominium community in central Boca Raton. “It’s very moderately priced, and that’s one of the appealing factors,” says Dale Tyroler, an eXp Realtor with several years of experience working with clients in the area. “It’s also close to Florida’s Turnpike, so it’s easily accessible, and within the community, too. The lifestyle is very active. There’s a lot going on for the residents,” she says.
Condos sell for below the Florida median
“Century Village is all condos, no single-family homes or villas,” Tyroler says. The 700-acre community has 16 multistory condo buildings and thousands of one- to two-bedroom condo units. Prices start close to $50,000 and go up to about $430,000. The median is about $125,000, well below the state median of $315,000, according to Florida Realtors. “It’s great if you’re looking to downsize to a moderately priced community,” Tyroler says. Flood risk here is low, but wind damage during hurricane season is a concern. Century Village-Boca Raton’s website has information about hurricane prep, including contact information for the Palm Beach County Division of Emergency Management.
Century Village-Boca Raton amenities offer indoor/outdoor recreation
The 92,000-square-foot clubhouse has a fitness center, where residents can take chair Pilates, Zumba and other exercise classes. The over 1,000-seat Century Village Theater screens movies and hosts live performances. Residents gather in the meeting rooms for card games, mahjong and bingo. And in addition to the indoor and outdoor pools at the clubhouse, each condo building has its own outdoor pool. “Each building is basically a village within the community, you don’t even have to leave to go for a swim,” Tyroler says. Tennis and pickleball courts are scattered around the community. Temple Beth Shalom of Boca Raton, next to the clubhouse, holds Shabbat services on Saturday mornings and minyan services on Thursday mornings. Though it’s located inside the Century Village gates, the synagogue is open to non-residents. Several golf and country clubs are close by, including the public Southwinds Golf Course and the private Boca West Country Club.
Retailers and restaurants along Glades Road
The Glades Road commercial corridor, less than 5 miles away, is lined with shopping and dining. For groceries, there’s Publix, Whole Foods and Sprouts. Clothing retailers, like Men’s Warehouse, Old Navy and Saks OFF 5th are nearby, along with home improvement and décor stores, like The Home Depot, Rooms To Go and HomeGoods. Dining options range from national chains like Chick-fil-A and Bonefish Grill to local spots, like Anyday Boca, a popular tapas bar. Zen Sushi & Robata Grill is a sleek Japanese restaurant, down the road from The Great Greek, a favorite for classic Mediterranean fare.
Quick access to Palm Tran bus stops, Florida’s Turnpike
PalmTran bus stops on Lyons Road are within about a mile of most buildings. The community also has a private bus service, with internal and external routes. The off-property routes connect to destinations like Walmart, Target, Publix, the West Boca Branch Library and Baptist Health Boca Regional Hospital. Driving to the hospital, nearly 8 miles away, usually takes 20 minutes without traffic. Florida’s Turnpike runs north toward West Palm Beach and south toward Fort Lauderdale. International airports in both cities are about 30 miles away. Century Village-Boca Raton’s CAP Index crime score is 2 out of 10, lower than the national average of 4.
