Via Verde is a pocket of Boca Raton that’s flush with amenities

Etched into a South Florida landscape lined with palm and oak trees, Via Verde offers convenient Boca Raton living for a range of budgets. This area includes multiple subdivisions with a mix of traditional single-family homes, condos and townhouses, all under the purview of the Via Verde Master Association. All homes are also within about 3 miles of the Town Center at Boca Raton mall, which features roughly 200 businesses, and Glades Plaza, where there’s an assortment of restaurants. “I’m telling you, in a very small radius, they have almost everything they need,” says Stephan Meyer, who’s CEO of The Meyer Global Group at Keller Williams Realty and has over 30 years of realty experience.

Homes vary greatly in layout and price

Most of Via Verde’s houses date to the 1970s and 1980s and have Mediterranean-inspired styling with tile roofs. However, that’s where the similarities begin to fray. As home seekers hop from subdivision to subdivision in Via Verde, options range from condos with attached garages to spacious single-family houses on half-acre lots. Several properties face one of the multiple lakes around the area. Some developments are gated, and others aren’t. Smooth sidewalks help make the area walkable.

Via Verde Master Association takes care of landscaping in common areas and maintains some of the walking paths for an annual fee. The fee is separate from each subdivision’s monthly HOA bill, which can range anywhere between $200 and $800, depending on the property type. Single-family homes sell for $330,000 to $2.3 million based on square footage, with a median of $800,000. Options over 2,800 square feet tend to go for at least $1 million. Townhouses and condos typically range from $290,000 to $610,000.

Close-by plazas provide plenty for shoppers and foodies

While much of Via Verde is residential, an eastern portion features what could be considered Boca Raton’s commercial core. Meyer says the area has "all types of very nice shops and restaurants and all kinds of things. It’s very, very nice.” Town Center at Boca Raton is one of the largest malls in the region at just under 1.8 million square feet. Stores include Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, Louis Vuitton and Apple. Eateries inside vary from Auntie Anne’s to The Capital Grille, “for the people who like a good steak,” Meyer says. There’s also a Publix supermarket just outside the mall. Nearby Glades Plaza has a location of the South Florida chain Laspada's Original Hoagies, where the roast beef is popular. The plaza also has Abe & Louie’s, a white-tablecloth steakhouse with another location in Boston.

Schools feature student groups and academies in a variety of topics

Palm Beach County School District maintains an A-minus grade on Niche, and is the 10th-largest school system in the nation. The district offers school choice through magnet programs, open enrollment and out-of-district transfers. Placement is determined by a lottery, and is subject to space availability. Students in the Via Verde area may start at the A-minus-rated Verde K-8 based on their address, and that school features clubs in topics from creative writing to Minecraft. Spanish River Community High boasts an A-plus, and has choice academy programs in biotechnology, early childhood teacher education, entrepreneurship and law.

Florida Atlantic University is a public higher education option about 3 miles from Via Verde. FAU has about 31,000 students and counts biological science, health science and computer science among its most popular undergraduate programs.

Climate is conducive to year-round golf, tennis and more

Multiple golf courses, parks and other recreation spaces surround Via Verde. “There is so much,” Meyer says. “It’s Florida, so all year there are outside sports activities.” The biggest park adjacent to Via Verde, Meyer says, is the 132-acre Sugar Sand Park, which has several ball fields, a carousel that’s open year-round and a science-themed playground adorned with dolphins, dinosaurs and other creatures. The park is also home to a community center with adult and youth programs. Public golf courses in the area include Southwinds, an 18-hole course that was renovated in 2025. Residents are also relatively close to Boca Raton Tennis Center, where there are four clay courts available for a fee. If locals want a day at the beach, they can go to South Beach Park, which is less than 10 miles away.

Boca Raton brings the community together in multiple ways

Those who live in Via Verde have access to the assortment of community events that take place in Boca Raton over the course of each year. The list includes the Seafood Festival in January, where there’s a crab cake eating competition, a cooking challenge and all sorts of seafood vendors. The Fabulous Fourth of July celebration features a block party, a 5K and fireworks. December brings the Holiday Street Parade, with lighted floats, and an appearance from Santa.

Major highways are within quick reach

Drivers in Via Verde are within 3 miles of Interstate 95 and Florida's Turnpike. They can also use the thoroughfare of Glades Road to reach amenities like the Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital, which is within 5 miles. I-95 takes travelers roughly 30 miles south to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The PalmTran bus runs through the Via Verde area as well.
