The Cider Creek neighborhood near the southwest Chicago suburb of Bolingbrook is 30 miles southwest of Chicago, close to the DuPage River and a popular public golf course. “Cider Creek is a popular choice for families looking for affordable Chicagoland homes close to Interstate 55,” says Mark Pawlak, a Realtor with Keller Williams Experience with close to 10 years in the real estate business. “Its biggest draw is access to highly sought-after Neuqua Valley High School in neighboring Naperville. Bolingbrook’s Clow International Airport
Though the name is Clow International Airport, the facility that is situated between a neighborhood cul-de-sac and a main north/south corridor is only one paved runway. It started in the 1950s as a grass strip on a farm. The International part of the name refers to the wide ethnicity of the Chicago area, rather than the airport's size. Charlie’s Restaurant is part of the airport, providing a front-row seat to see planes take off and land while enjoying a meal. Also connected is the Illinois Aviation Museum, operated out of one of the airport’s hangars, depicting a variety of aircraft and historical artifacts. The airport has over 70,000 landings and take-offs annually, making it one of Illinois's busiest general aviation airports. Other airport options include Midway Airport, about 40 minutes away and O’Hare International Airport, which is slightly less than an hour to the north. The neighborhood is 4 miles north of Interstate 55, and the closest Metra station is in Romeoville, with an hour trip into downtown Chicago.
