Homes with Colonial and Tudor influences in Freedom Park
Homebuyers will find that most homes are similar in style and amenities. When walking around the neighborhood, you’ll spot Colonial and Tudor-inspired homes. They may include different color shutters or brick-fronted exteriors. Additionally, you’ll spot nicely kept lawns and attached two-car garages. The sidewalks are standard-sized and suitably paved for when you must walk the dog or have the kids ride their bikes. Kids can attend their studies starting at the B+ Niche-rated Liberty Elementary School from grades K through five. Students who accelerate their studies can participate in the Gifted Honors Program. Following elementary years, students can spend middle school at the B+ Niche-rated John F. Kennedy Middle School. Six through eighth-grade students can participate in at least 20 after-school activities ranging from athletics to fun clubs. Lastly, students finish their years in “A” Niche-rated Plainfield School District at Plainfield East High School. Students enroll in dozens of AP-level courses. After school, they can enjoy the options of over 50 clubs and sports teams.
Neighborhood parks with newer playgrounds and Bolingbrook Golf Club
Freedom Park is centrally located in the neighborhood, serving as the staple for outdoor recreation. “It’s a local neighborhood park,” says Chris Finn, Bolingbrook Park District’s Director of Buildings, Grounds and Natural Resources. “There are baseball and soccer fields for the neighborhood. They’re not game fields.” This area also includes a playground space for the kiddos or kiddos at heart. “There’s a newer playground that was remodeled in 2022,” Finn says. “Everyone seems to like it. It’s heavily used.” Folks can also enjoy the picnic and pavilion areas. Then, conveniently outside is a pond area with a walking path. Sunset Park is also located within the Freedom Park area. This space holds all the same amenities but also includes a basketball court. Warmer days can be spent on the 18 holes offered at Bolingbrook Golf Club. Members here also get access to their fitness room, sauna, and steam rooms. On those rainy, cold days, drive to Bowlero to enjoy a few rounds of striking pins.
Chicago-style pizza and Portuguese cuisine found in Bolingbrook
Residents here don’t have to travel too far to get a bite of handmade Chicago-style grubs. The Salerno’s Pizza of Bolingbrook, two miles away, specializes in Chicago double-dough pizza. Besides the pies, they also carry Italian cuisine staples. About the same distance north sits the Port of Peri Peri restaurant. This fast-casual spot brings traditional Portuguese dishes. Pita Zone gives hungry folks dishes with Mediterranean-inspired flavors. Three miles away, you can find shopping options such as Target, Big Lots and Burlington Coat Factory.
Chicago commuters can take the Heritage Corridor line
Freedom Park residents are blessed to have the Bolingbrook Fire Station within the village boundaries. Those needing to commute into the city can head eight miles south to the Romeoville train station, part of the Heritage Corridor line. This train offers weekday services three times in the morning and evening. Home buyers in Freedom Park will feel a sense of community as they walk through their future neighborhood.
