North Bossier communities near conveniences
Just north of Bossier City, the Brownlee-Honore area is a collection of residential subdivisions near a community park, a large medical facility and shopping and dining plazas. Its main north-south corridors, Benton Road and Airline Drive, connect with Interstate 220 along its southern edge. Sherry Stapf-Tolisano, Broker-Owner of Spartan Realty, says, “I’ve not heard this area being referred to as Brownlee-Honore; most residents say they live in the subdivisions of Brownlee Estates or Greenacres Place. It’s a fairly laid-back community that’s close to so much. You have easy access to Interstate 220 for reaching the Shreveport Regional Airport, and you’re right near the Bossier Parish Community College which is rapidly growing. It’s a great location if you’re working at the Bossier campus of Willis-Knighton Health Center, one of the area’s largest providers, and you’re only a 20-minute drive from the Barksdale Air Force Base or large employers like the Cyber Innovation Center.”
Brownlee, Greenacres and Oak Alley homes
The Brownlee-Honore area offers a variety of home styles, from modest single-levels to custom multi-story new builds. Says Stapf-Tolisano, “Homes in Brownlee Estates can be a bit smaller and older, so the price point is a bit lower, but they’re very well-maintained. Greenacres Place homes tend to be larger or on bigger lots. So, you can really find price points that would suit most everybody, from $220,000 up to $500,00.” The gated Oak Alley subdivision, which is closest to the community’s hospital and shopping, offers four-bedroom contemporary stucco and brick homes built from the 1990s to new construction. Oak Alley homes feature elegant designs, ranging from $580,000 to $2 million, many with heated backyard pools and circular driveways. Yards and landscaping throughout the community are nicely tended, and sidewalk-lined streets often curve into cul-de-sacs. Some cul-de-sacs have central green spaces with a shade tree or two.
