Proud home of Boston Latin Academy and Malcolm X Park
Washington Park, a landmark community for Boston, lies near the city’s geographic center. “So much history was made there,” says Melvin Viera, Realtor with Re/MAX Destiny and resident of Boston for nearly 60 years. “Malcolm X and other great civil rights leaders walked the streets.” Area housing consists of restored 20th-century homes mixed with contemporary multifamily builds. With several neighborhood green spaces and proximity to Franklin Park, the grandest “jewel” in Frederick Law Olmsted’s Emerald Necklace, locals can enjoy plenty of time in the outdoors. Dining out in Washington Park affords the opportunity to taste flavors from the Caribbean, Africa and Venezuela, just to name a few. The neighborhood is also home to Boston Latin Academy, a renowned public magnet school.

Beside the park is Malcolm X's childhood home, the Malcolm X and Ella Little-Collins House. Just to the south of the community is the city of Boston’s largest park, Franklin Park, which was designed in 1890 by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted. It offers more than 500 acres of public facilities, including a zoo, a golf course and miles of walking trails.
