High-end CrossRidge with newer homes and retail near the mall
CrossRidge is a Bowling Green neighborhood with newer homes and lush lawns near the Greenwood Mall, one of Southern Kentucky's premier shopping hubs. Surrounded by a treasure trove of restaurants, retail and parks, CrossRidge has sprawling properties with ample room to roam. "It's a nice area with very high-end homes. It's country living right in the middle of the city," says Ron Cummings, a Century 21 Real Estate broker who has lived in the area for over 30 years. "Bowling Green is 60 miles north of Nashville. We have a university, and it's the only place in the world where Corvettes are made."
Upscale with New Traditional homes on half-acre lots
CrossRidge mixes a traditional suburban neighborhood with an upscale community. Its classic housing stock couples with lush lawns, red maple trees and colorful gardens. The average lot size is more than half an acre. This community features Craftsman, ranch-style and New Traditional homes. Most ranch-style homes were built between 1960 and 1990, while New Traditional and Craftsman-style homes are typically newer, with many built in the early 2000s. Home prices range from $200,000 to $750,000. Manufactured homes are also available and go for $50,000 to $100,000.
This neighborhood has a CAP Index Crime Score of 9 out of 10, higher when compared to the national average of 4.
Shopping and an inside look at Bowling Green restaurants
This community is minutes from Bowling Green's most extensive shopping and dining area along Scottsville Road. Within 2 miles of CrossRidge, the Greenwood Mall features more than 80 retailers, including national apparel brands, such as Old Navy and JCPenney. Local supermarkets include Kroger and Walmart Supercenter. Montana Grille serves cocktails in a well-established steakhouse with a log cabin atmosphere. Another establishment is Toro, a Tapas bar that serves Spanish-inspired brunch dishes. There are many restaurants in Bowling Green - so many that residents have an inside joke about the volume of options. "Bowling Green is famous for having too many restaurants," Cummings says. "They're everywhere, and we have all kinds."
Highly rated schools with a multitude of resources
Natcher Elementary School earns a B-plus from Niche. Its diverse student body represents about 25 languages, including American Sign Language and resources for deaf students. Drakes Creek Middle School has an A-minus and is a 2023 Blue Ribbon award winner. Greenwood High School also receives an A-minus, with a reputation for high test scores, among the highest-ranking schools in the Kentucky Department of Education.
Visiting local green spaces and Mammoth Cave National Park
H.P. Thomas Park is about 2 miles west of CrossRidge. Its dog park has two sections with an obstacle course for larger and smaller breeds. Covington Woods Park has extensive playground equipment, tennis and basketball courts. Also nearby, the Paul Walker Golf Course is a popular 9-hole municipal course. About 30 miles northeast, Mammoth Cave National Park is the world's longest-known cave system, with about 400 miles of depths discovered thus far. However, experts estimate the system could contain over 600 miles of additional undiscovered passageways. The national park offers guided tours, river recreation and 80 miles of hiking trails in Kentucky's rolling hills.
