Greystone is growing rapidly beside Bowling Green’s highways
Greystone has been consistently growing over the past 15 years. New construction is a constant, and home styles and prices diversify with each new subdivision that moves into the neighborhood. While the land surrounding subdivisions gives off the image of rural living, residents are connected to parks, highways and city conveniences. Greystone is outside Bowling Green's city limits, but many locals consider it a part of the city because of its close location to downtown. The community also has a busy industrial district and quick access to stores and restaurants. The neighborhood's CAP Index Crime Score is 2 out of 10, lower than the national score of 4.
The community has explosive growth in its housing market
The community has several clusters of residential subdivisions. Some include older homes from the 1930s to the 1980s, while others were built between the 1990s and the 2010s. However, an explosion of construction has occurred in the past 15 years. "The availability is good, and it's a price range a lot of people want to be in," says James Cook, Realtor at Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Partners Realty, who has sold homes in the area. "They sell out, do another section, sell out them, do another section. It's been a pretty consistent winner." Pre-2010 homes are typically bungalows, Cape Cods and ranch styles, while new construction is more contemporary. Recently built homes often have neutral or earth-toned exteriors, stone accents, white or black trim and wide garages. Prices range from $172,000 to $730,000, but the community's median price falls around $300,000.
In March 2025, Warren County's City-County Planning Commission approved a rezoning project to allow a new 216-unit apartment complex to be built inside Greystone at the intersection of Nashville Road and Dillard Road.
Changes in school zoning for Greystone
Most students attend Rockfield Elementary School, followed by Henry F. Moss Middle School and Warren Central High School. The schools have B-plus, C-plus and B-minus Niche scores, respectively. A proposed redistricting plan for the 2025-2026 school year would rezone some students from Rockfield Elementary to Warren Elementary School, which has a C-plus rating. A few students attend Rich Pond Elementary School, South Warren Middle School and South Warren High School. These are highly rated on Niche, sporting two A-minus ratings and an A score for the middle school.
Three main highways handle traffic throughout the week
The community is entirely car-dependent. Highway 68 cuts through the center of the neighborhood and is the primary route into Bowling Green. Highway 31W serves a similar function, and Interstate 165 runs perpendicular to both highways. The closest hospital is TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital, over 3 miles away. The nearest airport is Nashville International Airport, which is 70 miles, or a 1-hour drive, south. The neighborhood is home to roughly 15 houses of worship. These include several Christian denominations, as well as an Islamic center and a Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall. Many are along Highway 68, which can lead to higher traffic throughout the week during worship times. "It's a busy part of town, especially with the growth it's had," says Cook.
The community has a busy business district and a few local restaurants
Greystone has a large business district near Highway 31W, with several industrial and commercial manufacturers, suppliers and distributors. Retail stores and restaurants are scattered around the neighborhood. Three Dollar Generals provide everyday items, and two Crossroads IGAs offer groceries. Richpond Market & Deli sells ribeye, pulled pork sandwiches and country store items from its laid-back establishment. Melissa's Country Café has similar American fare, while El Capulin Mexican Bar and Grill pairs Latin American dishes with margarita flights. Residents visit Chaney's Dairy Barn to buy ice cream, chocolate milk and cheese sandwiches from a working dairy farm. The farm also has an interactive museum, an outdoor playground and a corn maze.
People enjoy green gardens, sports complexes and traditional playgrounds
Greystone has a few parks among its sprawling stretches of green space. Baker Arboretum & Downing Museum features a garden speckled with sculptures, brightly colored flowers, fountains and decorative stones. A small art museum is in the property's main building. Michael O Buchanon Park focuses on sports, offering several outdoor ball fields, batting cages and an indoor complex with basketball and volleyball courts. On the other side of Interstate 165, N-tense Sports has a high-intensity paintball course. Preston Miller Park has a large playground, expansive soccer fields and a disc golf course. It is also home to Russell Sims Aquatic Park, a public swimming pool and water park open in the summer.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
