Canyon Trails is the newest section of this West Boynton community

Canyon Trails is a gated community with resort-style amenities on the west side of Boynton Beach. As the newest of GL Homes' four gated Canyon communities, it comes with the largest clubhouse, pool and sports facilities. And thanks to smaller floor plans and lower HOA fees, prices here tend to be the least expensive of the Canyon neighborhoods. Within a short drive, you can make it to the newly expanded Canyon District Park, highly rated Palm Beach County schools and the restaurants at Canyon Town Center. If you're looking to live among the Canyons, this section stands out for its newer amenities.

Gated single-family homes with some of the Canyon’s lower prices

This gated community has Mediterranean-style homes arranged around man-made ponds. Floor plans vary from 1,700 to 4,000 square feet, and it’s common to see luxury features like backyard pools and summer kitchens. Primarily built from 2011 to 2014, Canyon Trails is the newest of the four Canyon neighborhoods, alongside Canyon Isles, Canyon Springs and Canyon Lakes.

Prices range from the mid-$600,000s to $1.4 million, with a median around $830,000. It’s a little lower than the other three Canyon communities, thanks to the smaller floor plans. "You have more entry-level homes, whereas in the original Canyons everything started at four bedrooms or larger," explains Shirley Segura, a Realtor with Re/Max Direct who has worked and lived in the Canyons for over 20 years.

Resort-style amenities, a larger clubhouse and lower HOA dues

Behind the 24/7 manned security gates, Canyon Trails has a private clubhouse and pool. HOA fees cover security, trash and upkeep of common spaces. "Canyon Trails has the lowest HOA dues of the four communities," Segura says. "Because Canyon Lakes, Isles and Springs all have two gatehouses to support, whereas Canyon Trails only has one, and the internet and cable are not included in the dues here." Canyon Trails’ amenities include:

  • A resort-style pool and children's splash area
  • An arcade and a game room with billiards, shuffleboard and darts
  • A fitness center, indoor half-court basketball and outdoor basketball and tennis courts
"The clubhouse is larger than the other three Canyon neighborhoods," Segura says. "They have an indoor half basketball court that's not in any of the others, their fitness center is a little larger, and they have an extra game room."

Community events include vendor markets and pool parties

Canyon Trails also has an active social calendar. Expect vendor booths at the Annual Spring Festival and food trucks rolling up for the Summer Pool Party. Segura says the events are a real highlight. "They have a lot of food vendors, they bring in the bounce house and the DJ…they really roll out the carpet over there."

A short drive from highly rated Palm Beach schools

Canyon Trails is served by the School District of Palm Beach County, which is highly rated by Niche. Sunset Palms Elementary School is just over a mile away, and right next door, West Boynton Middle School opened in 2023. Kids can also attend the highly rated Park Vista Community High School, which offers career academies in automotive technology, medical sciences and digital media.

Canyon Town Center has restaurants, shopping and concerts

Canyon Town Center is about a mile north, packed with restaurants, shops and a Publix for groceries. In the cooler months, the outdoor Canyon Amphitheater hosts a monthly concert series called Legends on the Lawn. "The amphitheater is great," Segura says. "Everyone brings lawn chairs, has dinner first, grabs ice cream…and sits outside to watch the show." A few of the town center’s restaurants include:

  • Souvlaki GR, a Greek spot designed to feel like the island of Mykonos
  • Sole Mio Kitchen & Bar, serving Italian dishes on a covered patio with live music
  • Scoop’s Ice Cream & Milkshake Bar, a family-owned dessert shop with milkshakes and a candy bar
  • Sushi Yama, an Asian-fusion sushi restaurant with a live guitar player on weekends

Modern amenities at Canyon District Park and the Canyon Branch library

Just outside the neighborhood’s gates, Canyon District Park spans over 50 acres with lighted multipurpose fields and fitness trails. A second phase wrapped up in 2026, adding ball fields, sand volleyball courts and a playground. Right next door, the Canyon Branch of the Palm Beach County Library System opened in early 2025. "It's one of the largest and nicest branches that they built in Palm County and has lots of activities and classes," Segura says.

Easy access to Florida’s Turnpike and downtown Boynton Beach

Florida’s Turnpike is right outside the neighborhood, so it’s easy to head south to Boca Raton, about 15 miles away, or north to West Palm Beach, about 20 miles away. Downtown Boynton is a quick 7-mile drive on Boynton Beach Boulevard, and it’s just 3 more miles to reach the beach.
