The Cascades 55-plus community "is like a country club without the country club dues"
The Cascades is an appealing 55-plus destination in west Boynton Beach. Anchored by a recently renovated clubhouse, the community caters to an active lifestyle with an array of resort-style amenities in an attractive South Florida location. A typical day at The Cascades involves everything from card games to racquet sports to the performing arts. Residents even have golf course views, despite not living in a golf course community. Several holes of the neighboring Westchester Country Club layout run through The Cascades. “It’s like a country club without the country club dues,” says Stacy McNall of Coldwell Banker, who has sold several homes in the community. “It’s got everything. There is a golf course running through it … and the grounds are just beautifully maintained.” Residents also enjoy the security of a guard-gated community and a location that offers proximity to shopping, dining, major highways and medical services.
Spanish Mediterranean homes are reasonably priced
The decorative facades and barrel-tile roofs of the community’s Spanish Mediterranean homes stand out. Driveways and attached garages are standard features. Meticulous landscaping and palm trees add curb appeal to streets designed for walkability and bike riding. Small ponds provide waterfront views. Prices typically range from around $400,000 to the low $600,000s. Monthly HOA fees are in the $500 range. “The prices are very, very reasonable,” says McNall, who added that they are lower than the neighboring 55-plus Valencia communities, “and the HOA fees are lower than most.” While the Atlantic coast is about 7 miles away, the community is far enough inland that flooding is only a moderate risk. However, wind damage is a major risk during hurricane season, and barrel-tile roofs are designed with this in mind.

Card room, arts and crafts room and athletic courts are featured amenities
Featuring a card room, an arts and crafts room and a billiard room, the clubhouse is the center of social activity, with holiday parties and events held there throughout the year. The clubhouse is also home to a ballroom that hosts theatrical performances. And for those who want to get in on the performing arts action, the community has its own theater group. “There are 978 homes, so it’s a large community with plenty of social opportunities,” McNall says. The community also offers a state-of-the art fitness center, a resort-style pool and 16 courts dedicated to popular racquet sports. “They’re big on pickleball and tennis, and they have on-site pros,” McNall says. Golfers can get a membership to the Westchester Country Club and have access to two 18-hole courses and a par-3 course. Ocean Front Beach Park is a premier coastal destination about a 20-minute drive from the community.

The turnpike provides quick access to neighboring cities and regional travel. Interstate 95, which connects all the major cities along the coast, is about 6 miles east of the community. The Boynton Beach Tri-Rail commuter train station is about a 20-minute drive.
