Peachtree Corridor has higher education and shopping
Peachtree Corridor is a growing community with a busy shopping center and Peachtree Roadway to the east. Oglethorpe University also shapes the community to the north. "Peachtree Corridor has a lot to give to the University. There's a lot of nice apartment complexes around Oglethorpe," says David Pruett, a DeKalb County resident and seasoned Realtor with Ansley Real Estate Christie's International. "You have walkability from University to Town Brookhaven, which has things like Publix, bars, different little eateries and a movie theater that students enjoy." The community is a part of Brookhaven and the coveted Ashford Park Elementary district. "[The area's] schools get high ratings every year. Then you have shopping and accessibility to things that make your life easier. That makes this part of Brookhaven so desirable," Pruett says.
Peachtree Corridor’s identity is shaped by student life at Oglethorpe University, where walkability connects academics with nearby shops and dining.
Entertainment is a short walk away in Peachtree Corridor, where Look Dine-In Cinemas in Town Brookhaven draws locals and students alike.

Town Brookhaven includes a Costco and the local sports bar
Town Brookhaven is a popular shopping plaza with national retailers, department stores and a movie theater. Pruett says HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern is a favorite sports bar among college students. "This area has a Costco and many different restaurants," Pruett says. "But Peachtree Corridor is only 15 minutes away from Buckhead, so if you want to have a date night, it's very easy to get to." Following Peachtree Road leads shoppers to upscale options at Phipps Plaza and Lenox Square.

Locals are close to the newly updated Brookhaven Park. The grounds have a community garden, athletic fields and a large play area. There's also a fenced-in dog park with a splash pad for hot summer days. Peachtree Creek Greenway is an ongoing construction project that began in 2018. As a part of the 12-mile North Fork Peachtree Creek trail, the green way is an alternative route for traveling the metro area. Hermance Stadium, at Oglethorpe, is surrounded by a gothic stone wall resembling a fortress. Behind the masonry is Anderson Field, home to the Stormy Petrels baseball team.
Peachtree Corridor families enjoy community-centered green spaces like Brookhaven Park, which includes a playground, splash pad, and trails.

Housing prices are often well above the metro average. Townhouses and condos range in price from $500,000 to just under $950,000, depending on the size. Houses under 2,250 square feet tend to range between $475,000 and $725,000, depending on the level of renovations. Larger homes can cost between $850,000 and $1.25 million.

Commuting on I-85 and MARTA
Peachtree Corridor is considered very walkable, and many locals are less than a mile from community hot spots. Residents and University students can take nearby Interstate 85 to reach downtown Atlanta, about 11 miles away. "Because the train tracks are there [to the east], you won't have easy access to the Ashford Park area. But you can walk down the street to the [Brookhaven-Oglethorpe] MARTA Station. It's about a mile and a half walk," Pruett says.
A community in development
Brookhaven City Council has plans to enhance the area through government-led initiatives. The Peachtree Overlay District plan sought residents' feedback for new zoning to guide future development along Peachtree Road. The City Council hopes to make the area more walkable and improve traffic flow.
