Situated along the western banks of the Mississippi River, Bellvue is known for its entry-level housing options and proximity to major thoroughfares. It’s named after the greenspace at its center, Bellvue Park, and offers a balanced residential lifestyle with access to local city amenities like the North Mississippi Regional Park. “Brooklyn Center is very underrated,” says Richelle Taylor, Realtor with Re/Max Results. “It’s often considered a part of Minneapolis rather than a first-ring suburb. Home values have been consistent and appreciation in the area continues to grow.” Residents can picnic at the heart of the community and enjoy riverfront views close to home. With U.S. Interstate 94 on its eastern border, residents take advantage of quick 6-mile commutes to all Minneapolis has to offer.

Mid-century ranch styles and bungalows
Homes in Bellvue are attractive for their lower costs and their proximity to downtown Minneapolis. “Prices here are relatively more affordable,” says Taylor, who has over a decade of experience selling in the area. “The housing stock is a mix of 50s and 60s builds, which are smaller than the newer construction to the north.” With a median sales price of $250,000 homes here cost $180,000 less than the average property in the Minneapolis metro area. For example, homes can sell from as low as $145,000 for a two-bedroom bungalow fixer-upper to upwards of $400,000 for a four-bedroom split-level. Most homes in Bellvue were constructed in the 1950s, resulting in midcentury ranch styles, split-levels and bungalow designs. Established single-family homes are common to the area, however, some multifamily twin styles are also available. Most homes feature mid-sized lawns, paved driveways and ornate backyard fencing. Streets are laid out in a traditional grid pattern surrounding Bellvue Park at the neighborhood's center.
