Pinebrook Village
Walking trails lead to Pinebrook Park
Pinebrook Park’s playground and shaded picnic areas are in the middle of the neighborhood, surrounded by a soccer field, baseball diamond and basketball court. Walking trails lead into the residential streets for pedestrian access. Another multiuse trail extends from 97th Avenue North to Edinbrook Park, just south of Highway 610. North of the neighborhood, the trail ends in Mississippi Gateway Regional Park, about a mile away. The scenic riverside oasis features hiking trails, picnic areas, an off-leash dog park and an observation deck overlooking the Coon Rapids Dam.Contemporary two-story homes on quarter-acre lots
Single-family homes make up the bulk of the property mix in Pinebrook Village, but a collection of townhomes sit in the northwestern corner of the neighborhood. Most houses were built in the early 2000s on lots measuring at least a quarter acre. Small retention ponds are scattered throughout the area. “When the water drains off the streets, it goes into retention ponds,” explains Ekstrom, who’s been selling homes in the region since 2006. “In the springtime, a lot of those will dry up, but they create a buffer for the homeowners so they’re not looking in the back windows of the home directly behind them.” Home sales are infrequent in this neighborhood, and properties tend to sell after 25 days on the market, nearly half the national average. Recent sales included townhomes that sold for $275,000 to $325,000 and contemporary homes that fetched $450,000 to $550,000. Pinebrook Village has a CAP Index Crime Score of 1, the lowest possible score. The risk of hail is relatively high, so buyers should look for homes with garages to help protect against vehicle damage.Getting around the Twin Cities on Minnesota Highway 610
Minnesota Highway 610 skims the neighborhood’s southern border, so residents can easily get around the Twin Cities. Metro Transit system buses stop along 97th Avenue North to shuttle passengers to downtown Minneapolis, 13 miles away. The nearest medical center is Mercy Hospital's Unity Campus, about 7 miles away in Fridley on the eastern side of the Mississippi River. Direct flights to dozens of major U.S. cities are available from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, about 25 miles away.Park Center Senior High School is an IB World School
Most students start at Woodland Elementary School, which receives a B from Niche. Next up, Brooklyn Middle STEAM School is rated C-plus, and Park Center Senior High School is rated B-minus. The high school is an International Baccalaureate World School, supplementing its core curriculum with a broader cultural focus.Casual, eclectic restaurants on Noble Parkway
A small shopping center on Noble Parkway offers several casual dining options. Fragrant curries and jerk chicken spice up the menu at Nadia’s Jamaican Kitchen. The carry-out specials at Sweet Taste of Italy can feed up to 14 people with heaping portions of pasta, pizza and garlic bread. Next door is a Holiday gas station, a convenience store and an auto care shop. The closest grocery option is Hy-Vee, about a mile west of the neighborhood along Highway 610.Seasonal events at Historic Eidem Farm
Less than a mile away, Historic Eidem Farm hosts a lineup of seasonal events. Spring on the Farm heralds the arrival of warm weather with live music, flower and veggie planting and meet-and-greets with baby animals. Visitors can sip fresh cider around the bonfire after enjoying a hayride at Fall on the Farm. During an Eiden Farm Christmas, guests take part in centuries-old holiday traditions like caroling, crafting and cookie decorating.
