Outdoor lifestyle and mountain views define Aspen Creek living
People move to Aspen Creek to experience the great outdoors, says Realtor Diane Sorenson with Kentwood Real Estate. Originally from the East Coast, Sorenson values what the Colorado climate, terrain and attitude have brought to her life. “In Colorado, we don’t stand still too much or stay inside for too long,” she says. “In a neighborhood like Aspen Creek, you’re smack dab in the middle of one big playground.” With great schools, beautiful parks, convenient shopping and quick access to the area’s major highways, Aspen Creek has what many homeowners crave, and then some — a lifestyle you can only find in Colorado.
Contemporary homes with mountain views and outdoor features
The design of Aspen Creek makes it easy to enjoy an outdoor lifestyle. The neighborhood pool and clubhouse are within walking distance, and wide sidewalks and streets invite neighbors to take walks or hop on their bikes. You’ll also find trails that cut through undeveloped fields of short grass and lead to parks and other points of interest. Most homes in this subdivision of Broomfield are large, two-story contemporary houses with brick, wood-paneling or stucco siding that sell for between $800,000 and $1.2 million. Windows in the great rooms of these residences often reach the ceiling and offer incredible views of the nearby Rockies. Outside, homeowners can enjoy Colorado living at its best, with hardscaped barbecues, fire pits and patios. “This is a newer part of Broomfield,” Sorenson says. “Homes here were built only 20 years ago and are well-maintained, which is why the neighborhood looks so brand new.”
Walkable K-8 school and top-rated high school nearby
The schools that serve Aspen Creek all received an A from Niche. Aspen Creek K-8, which is walkable from most homes, strives to create a fun, engaging and collaborative environment for first graders by exposing them to art, music, technology and physical education. Broomfield High, southwest of the neighborhood, has one of the strongest academic reputations in the state, with a comprehensive set of programs and nearly 20 AP courses that students can take across multiple disciplines and grade levels.
Recreation options range from boulder-filled park to fitness studios
Parks and recreational areas dot the area and are all within walking or biking distance. Nearby, Rock Pile Park lives up to its name, featuring boulders positioned along walkways and in a central sandy area — a serene place to walk, meet friends or sit and soak in the Colorado sunshine. To the south, Broomfield Commons Dog Park has everything you and your pups need for social time, such as separate areas for large and small dogs, drinking water, rocks and logs to climb on, and shaded seating areas for parents. Below it, the 80-acre Broomfield Commons Sports Complex offers more than a dozen soccer/football fields and a children’s playground with jungle gyms and swings. On one side of it, the Paul Derda Recreational Center attracts families with its indoor aquatic park and outdoor “spray-ground.” You’ll also find two full-size gymnasiums, cardio areas, a kid’s play zone and two fitness studios in this well-used facility. Aspen Creek sits close to two area golf courses. Next door is Broadlands, an 18-hole public course that plays as long as 7,300 yards, and to the southwest is Eagle Trace, a picturesque course with Rocky Mountain views, five large lakes, huge native cottonwood trees and a clubhouse with a full-serve restaurant and bar.
King Soopers, Walmart and Whole Foods anchor retail options
For everyday needs, shopping centers are minutes away at the intersection of Sheridan Boulevard and West 120th Street. The Broomfield Town Center, for example, is anchored by a King Soopers grocery store and a Home Depot. Across the street is a Walmart Supercenter, and below it, a Whole Foods and Sprouts Farmers Market. Dozens of restaurants line this area, including GQue BBQ-Westminster. This popular eatery attracts people with the aroma of its richly smoked meats and keeps them coming back with fast service and quality craft beer and spirits.
Quick access to Denver, Boulder and the airport via highways
In addition to shopping, Aspen Creek is also less than 3 miles from the Northwest Parkway, which will take you to Denver International Airport, and Route 36, for faster access to Boulder. Interstate 25 is only 3.5 miles, too, which runs directly into Denver.
