In addition to its namesake green space, Crofton Park evokes all the serenity of a recreational hub. The Broomfield community has wide sidewalks, charming streetlights and lush green lawns. “It’s the perfect place for anyone who wants a traditional, suburban neighborhood,” says Claire Gilmore, the owner-broker of Houses by Claire Gilmore and a Broomfield resident. “It’s incredibly quiet because it's entirely residential. You’ll always see someone out jogging or walking their dog,”

Crofton Park’s cul-de-sacs are brimming with dwellings built throughout the early 2000s. “The houses are low maintenance, and that’s a big reason why people move here,” says Gilmore. “They’re well-built, and the yards are small enough to be manageable.” Homes are most commonly two-to-three-bedroom New Traditional Craftsman styles. In the neighborhood's western region, you’ll also see a few pastel-painted town houses with the same architecture. No matter the layout, a home in Crofton Park typically has a two-car garage, a small back patio and a white picket fence. They also cost between $500,000 and $600,000, a range similar to a Broomfield home’s average $600,000 selling price.

The playground in Crofton Park is specifically meant for children ages two to six. They can bounce on the four-person seesaw, climb the building block-style stairs or use their imagination at the playhouse. Signage sprinkled across the park directs kids on a scavenger hunt, telling them to look for hidden illustrations of rabbits, ladybugs and owls on each structure. A portion of the Columbine Meadows Greenbelt trail also runs through the park. If you follow the paved path for less than a half-mile, you’ll end up at 12-acre Columbine Meadows Park. Here, you can hit a home run on the softball diamonds, score a goal on the soccer fields or shoot hoops on the basketball court. The Broomfield Community Park is a 3-mile drive from the neighborhood. In addition to its three playgrounds, the public library and the ice skating rink, the green space hosts various community events. For instance, the annual holiday tree lighting ceremony features carols performed by local choirs, horse-drawn wagon rides and a visit from Santa.

Children in Crofton Park can attend Mountain View Elementary, which has an overall B grade on Niche. Then, they may go to Westlake Middle School. In addition to its overall B-plus grade from Niche, the school has a diverse range of extracurriculars, including Minecraft Coding Club, the Color Guard Team and the Harry Potter Club. Then, at Legacy High School, students benefit from the A-minus-graded academics. The school’s Legacy 2000 Program is specifically for students interested in any STEM-related field. In place of a regular class, juniors shadow a science professional for 20 hours every week. Then, they have to obtain a 40-hour internship in their senior year.

The neighborhood is less than 5 miles from Thorncreek Crossing, a bustling commercial strip with stores like Target, Sprouts Farmers Market and Barnes & Noble. But just 2 miles away, the Broomfield Town Center is even closer. Get groceries from the Walmart Supercenter, buy tools at Home Depot or stock up on dog food at Petco. You’ll also find a few locally owned eateries, like the Old Man Bar. The self-titled no-frills joint serves barbecue basics like the rib tips tossed in a bourbon sauce. It also has a beer garden where you can jam out to local bands. North Side Tavern is another local mainstay, and it's within walking distance from your Crofton Park home. Devour upscale eats like the burrata ravioli drizzled in pesto or sip a Colorado-made brew.

“In general, Broomfield has an amazing location between Boulder and Denver,” says Gilmore. “This neighborhood is at the center of an already conveniently located town.” Drive 6 miles to U.S. Route 36 and take it 16 miles west to reach Boulder. The neighborhood is also only 6 miles from Interstate 25, and a 16-mile drive south on the thoroughfare takes you to Denver. Head less than 2 miles away to the 20 Regional Transportation District bus stops along West 120th Avenue for an alternative way to commute.
