Palisade Park offers peaceful suburban living in Broomfield

Palisade Park is a suburban Broomfield community tucked between Interstate 25 and Colorado state Highway 7. Largely developed in the second decade of the 21st century, the small enclave has contemporary houses with great curb appeal, and commerce is along East Baseline Road. “Palisade Park is one of Broomfield’s newest areas and is an extension of Broomfield,” says Claire Gilmore, a Realtor at MB KELL & COMPANY with over 20 years of experience. “Like most areas that are in city limits, it takes a bit of time for them to grow and get incorporated into the community. The community is zoned for Erie’s school district, and it appeals to those who regularly commute to the airport or downtown areas for work.” The community has a CAP Index score of 1 out of 10, which is lower than the national average of 4.

Modern subdivision homes in northern Broomfield

With planned landscaping, green spaces and tree-lined sidewalks, Palisade Park features modern subdivision communities nestled in the northern end of the city limits. Homes were mainly built within the past decade, featuring New Traditional styles decorated with stone facades. Single-family properties typically fall between $600,000 and $850,000, with several large properties selling around $950,000. “Homes in these newer communities have open floor plans and are a bit more affordable than those in more established communities like Anthem,” Gilmore says. “Generally, lots are around 7,000 to 8,000 square feet.”

Prospective schools in Erie's St. Vrain Valley School District

The area is served by St. Vrain Valley School District. Black Rock Elementary has an A-minus grade from Niche, and Erie Middle gets a B-plus. The middle school is a Pre-AP College Focus School, and students can take high-school-level courses in Algebra and Geometry. With an A-minus rating, Erie High School is home to an engineering and aerospace academy and offers an Advanced Placement Capstone program. Vista Ridge Academy is a private, prekindergarten through eighth-grade Christian school in Erie, which is right next to the neighborhood.

Neighborhood parks and outdoor areas around Palisade Park

The community has several pocket parks: Palisade Park has a playground, and Vista Park has a green field and some walking paths. Colorado National Golf Club, host of several NCAA Regional Championships, has an 18-hole course and is open to the public. Immediately north of the area, Erie Singletrack offers over 3 miles of biking trails and views of the Front Range. In addition, the city offers a robust youth sports program, ranging from soccer and softball to gymnastics.

Restaurants along East Baseline Road

The area is near a handful of local restaurants and national franchises like Panda Express and Popeyes. Regulars often go to Lazy Dog Sports Bar and Grill on game nights, and Blake’s Taphouse, which was featured on the television show America's Best Restaurants, serves brunch and classic pub food. People can get groceries at King Soopers Marketplace, and big-box stores such as Costco and The Home Depot are along Washington Street.

Close distance to Boulder and Denver

The neighborhood is bordered by Interstate 25 and Colorado state Highway 7. Boulder is about 20 miles west, and Denver is approximately 20 miles north via I-25. Children's Hospital Colorado North Campus, Broomfield, is in Palisade Park, and St Anthony North Hospital is south of the area in Westminster. Denver International Airport is about 25 miles southeast, and the city’s public transit is provided by the Regional Transportation District.

Festivals and events in Broomfield

Taking place in September, Broomfield Days is often considered one of the city’s largest annual festivals, featuring a parade, a 5K race, contests, games, live entertainment and a car show. Other festivities include the Broomfield Area Bites & Brews Festival, and Spring Spectacular, a spring fair with a local artisan market.
