Sunnyslope offers large lots in a horse-friendly setting near Denver
Sunnyslope is a neighborhood that features horse farms on spacious lots in the Denver suburb of Broomfield. “The really big thing is the horse properties on the land,” says David Hakimi, a broker with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services – Innovative Real Estate Northglenn. “It is premium, valuable land that’s sought after.” While residents enjoy secluded country living, they also have access to an array of outdoor activities. “There are tons of trails and dedicated open space,” Hakimi says.
Acreage homes are part of an affluent suburb
Ranch-style and custom homes occupy lots that are often larger than an acre. And residents are surrounded by other sought-after neighborhoods conveniently located between Denver and Boulder. “Broomfield is an affluent suburb with many high-tech and engineering jobs,” Hakimi says. There are not enough home sales for an accurate price range.
Students can attend a trio of well-rated schools
The neighborhood is served by Adams 12 Five Star Schools, a district rated B-plus by Niche. Coyote Ridge Elementary School, which provides iPads and Chromebooks as part of an innovative technology program, is rated A-minus. Older students can attend Westlake Middle School, rated B-plus, and Legacy High School, rated A-minus. The high school has a dominant softball program, which has won several state titles.
Broomfield County Commons Park is filled with amenities
Colorado is a paradise for outdoor activities, and the neighborhood is close to many trails, parks and local attractions. Nearby Broomfield County Commons Park is a 300-acre green space whose featured attractions include an 80-acre sports complex with synthetic fields, more than 225 acres of open space and the Paul Derda Recreation Center, a state-of-the-art facility. The park also hosts the annual Great American Picnic, which features food, drinks and fireworks every Independence Day. The Bay Aquatic Park is a summer destination where kids can enjoy water slides, multiple pools and a sprayground. The 18-hole Broadlands Golf Course offers a public, 18-hole layout.
Big-box retailers, shopping centers and bars nearby
There are plenty of shopping options, including a Walmart, Whole Foods, FlatIron Crossing Mall and Broomfield Town Center, within 10 minutes of the neighborhood. At the Broomfield Town Center, Paris Banh Mi has nearly 20 different French-Vietnamese sandwiches. Ziggi’s Coffee doesn’t just serve up hot cups of coffee — it’s also home to the Colorado Sunrise Italian soda. The Old Man Bar is a popular nearby destination where visitors can dine on comfort food, watch sports and listen to live music.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
