At Sadie Thomas Memorial Park, just across the street from the neighborhood, kids can play at the new playground or cool off in the summer heat at the swimming pool. Meanwhile, a basketball court and baseball field are available for those looking to get a pickup game in. The park has two pavilions available for reservation, including one with a kitchen and barbecue grills for a cookout. The city of Bryan recently updated the nearby Sue Haswell Park as well, with plenty of green space and paths to walk around.

Ranch-style homes on East Park cul-de-sacs
With wide streets and cul-de-sacs set back from the main roads, East Park has a quiet suburban feel. Grassy front yards and fenced-in backyards are often shaded by large oak trees, offering respite from the Texas heat. Ranch-style homes can range from the upper $100,000s to nearly $300,000. “It’s a lot of older single-family homes that either have been rehabbed or they’re a good project for first-time buyers where you can get in and kind of make it your own,” Gutierrez says.
Typically, East Park homes are clean and well kept.

Easy access to Highway 6
East Park is just off Texas Highway 6, a main route through the combined Bryan-College Station area, twin cities with a population of over 200,000. “It’s very nice to have because you can be on and off the highway in a very short period,” Gutierrez says. “If you live in the center of town, it might take you longer to get to the highway with traffic, versus just being able to jump on and go.” For longer trips, Highway 6 leads north to Waco or south to Houston. The Brazos Transit District operates buses throughout Bryan-College Station, with a route passing the neighborhood. While the Easterwood Airport in College Station offers commercial flights to Dallas-Fort Worth International, the nearest major airport is George Bush Intercontinental in Houston, a 90-mile drive.
