Bullhead City Center
Fun at Bullhead City Community Park
Less than one mile south of the neighborhood is Bullhead City Community Park. The 376-acre facility has nearly a mile of beach access on the Colorado River with buoyed swim areas, fishing piers and three boat launches. There’s also a lighted baseball field and a fenced-in dog park for pets to exercise. “The park is one of the projects the city has spent a lot of money on over the past five years,” McMullen says. “It was never scary, but it’s much cleaner than it was a couple of years ago.” Just 3 miles north of the neighborhood is the Colorado River Heritage Greenway Trail, which features 9 miles of riverfront area for hiking and mountain biking. Those who partake in the trail should bring sunscreen and hydrate, as summer temperatures routinely top out at over 115 degrees. For indoor entertainment, Laughlin offers a handful of casinos packed with table games, slot machines and more just west across the river.Eating at Earl's at the Castle
Locals can head to Earl’s at the Castle, a massive restaurant inside a brightly painted yellow and purple medieval castle. Earl’s serves up casual American and Mexican classics and features an outdoor patio for the cooler months of the year. Jin’s Ramen is a sleek spot with walls adorned with modern art serving Asian fusion dishes in addition to traditional ramen. There are plenty of chain restaurants less than 2 miles down the road, including Denny’s and Black Bear Diner, a local chain serving all-day breakfast as well as lunch and dinner. Residents can shop at the Family Dollar in the neighborhood or go a mile down Highway 95 to Safeway. Target and other retail options are available 5 miles south.New luxury condos overlooking the Colorado River
Housing in Bullhead City Center ranges from manufactured homes in 55-plus communities costing between $60,000 and $150,000 to ranch-styles costing $200,000 to $365,000. There are also condos overlooking the river built in the mid-2000s that are in the $450,000 and $525,000 range. Manufactured and ranch-style houses have plenty of space for off-street parking, and the climate does not allow for grass lawns. The condos feature large parking structures and community pools and saunas. “There’s still a lot of vacant land available, making it a good spot for investors,” McMullen says.Mohave High has a strong football program
Kids attend the Bullhead City Elementary School District beginning at Sunrise Elementary School. Sunrise Elementary has a C-plus grade on Niche and is noted for its strong student diversity and 18-to-1 student-teacher ratio. Fox Creek Junior High and Mohave High School both have C grades. Mohave High School’s football team had a school record of 11 wins in 2023 and was crowned district champions. The school also offers badminton and beach volleyball teams.Easy access to Highway 95
Highway 95 makes it easy for locals to get around the Mohave Valley. Just 10 miles south is Fort Mohave, while Needles, California, is another 12 miles down the road. Travelers can head 100 miles north on 95 to Las Vegas for access to the area’s only major airport. There are also Bullhead Area Transit System buses in the area for local transportation.
