Burlington suburb of Havenville features budget-friendly home prices
Havenville began as a small farming hamlet in Burlington in the 1800s, lined with small county stores and modest one-bedroom abodes for its residents. Today, it’s a popular landing spot for buyers searching within the town on a budget. Locals live just minutes from Burlington’s retail and dining sectors, and they're within 40 minutes of Boston for work or leisure.

Postwar single-family homes and garden-style condos available
Havenville’s winding, narrow streets are flanked by farm-style fences, giving the area the feel of a rustic suburb. Home prices range from $400,000 to $2 million, varying by age, square footage and lot size. “It’s mainly split-levels, ranches and colonials, built in the 1950s and '60s,” says Joanna Schlansky, a Burlington native and certified residential specialist with Elite Realty Experts. “If [buyers] want to get in Burlington with relatively affordable homes, that’s the area to go.” The median single-family home price in Havenville is about $779,500, which is below the city’s median home price. Garden-style condos are also on the market, and these homes tend to be priced much lower than the neighborhood’s spacious, contemporary-style new builds, which were mostly constructed in the past 10 years.
Homes in Havenville include condo style buildings with private parking.

Sports facilities at Simonds Park and hiking at Paint Mine Conservation Area
“Simonds Park is the biggest park in town that people go to,” Schlansky says. “It has a kiddie pool, a course for disc golf, a skate park, pickleball and tennis courts.” The park is less than a mile east of the neighborhood along Bedford Street. Paint Mine Conservation Area is in Lexington, a neighboring town, and it features a 2-mile forested trail and a large meadow called Hennessey Field, both popular for nature hikes. Havenville hosts the Burlington Community Garden on the grounds of Francis Wyman Elementary School, so locals can plant their own produce and find their green thumbs.

Havenville is close to highways that access Boston and Logan International Airport
Buyers move to Havenville for several reasons: “Some people want to be close to [Massachusetts Route] 128 or go to the airport within 20 to 25 minutes,” Schlansky says. “[Though] some people do commute to Boston, most people here work hybrid or remote.” Commuters can follow Interstate 93 just 19 miles south to Boston, which takes between 30 and 40 minutes, depending on traffic. Boston Logan International Airport is also 19 miles away. Lowell Regional Transit buses stop along Middlesex Turnpike for access to Burlington Square and the Burlington Mall.
