Though ice cream is their specialty, the parlor serves more than just frozen treats — they have a menu full of classic American food and deep-fried favorites. Nearby, Sparta Steak House & Lounge offers a more upscale dining experience featuring surf-and-turf and homemade desserts. Located on 12th Street Northwest, Sparta is housed in a nondescript building hidden amongst residential housing. Nearby neighborhoods offer a plethora of food options as well. “For 17 years, I’ve been going to a new restaurant every month with my ‘Dinner Club.’ We have rarely ever been to the same restaurant twice,” says Toth.
