The city of Cape Canaveral, located on a small barrier island in Florida's Space Coast is best known for rocket launches, tourism, and surfside fun. Home to NASA's Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, locals have the privilege of seeing spacecraft ascend into the sky and are accustomed to sonic booms. Beyond the space industry is a comfy community that feels like a beach town. Though millions come to vacation and board cruise ships from Port Canaveral, only around 10,000 call the land between the Banana River and the Atlantic Ocean home.

Manatees and dolphins and fun
The region is home to over 100 plant species and 300 bird varieties among 24 miles of uninterrupted beachfront. Along the coastline are mobi-mat beach access points and free public parking. The city's beach restoration project helps protect and preserve the coastline from erosion. Banana River is another popular destination for outdoor adventures. Locals can easily enjoy whale watching, kayaking and paddle boarding. “You see a lot of wildlife,” says longtime local Lynn Rattenbury, a Realtor with Seaside Realty. “Manatees on the river and dolphins in the sea. We also get to see submarines come up and down since the port’s right there.” Night boating on the river is popular between June and October, when the water glows blue with bioluminescent plankton.

Buying into the Cape Canaveral lifestyle
Townhomes and condos are the most common form of housing. Many are within walking distance of the coast or have community docks along the river. Lucky buyers can sometimes find beach cottages and pool homes from the 1960s. Meanwhile, subdivisions like Discovery Bay and Avon by the Sea feature contemporary homes, most of which were built in the past 30 years. The median price for single-family homes is around $602,000, almost $200,000 more than the national median. One-bedroom units have an overall median of around $165,000.
Cape Canaveral faces an extreme risk of flooding and hurricanes. Hurricane season runs from June to November.

Port Canaveral has a few local waterfront restaurants popular for their fresh seafood. Everything else in town, from bars to grocery stores to gas stations, is on Astronaut Boulevard – the northern stretch of the famous A1A highway. The closest hospital, Health First's Cape Canaveral Hospital, is less than 5 miles away on the Cocoa Beach Causeway.
Locals frequent food and craft vendors at the Friday Fest, a monthly event at the intersection of Taylor and Poinsetta avenues, near the city’s newly opened cultural hub, the CAPE (Culture, Arts, Preservation and Enrichment) Center.

Hello my name is Eugene Crockett The Rocket with EXP Realty. The biggest issue that customers have with real estate agents is that they don't answer their phones. Responsivenes is what I live by. It's one thing to say you are a hard worker. It is another thing to back it with action. Before becoming a Realtor I was a stockbroker for 19 years. I truly believe that experience has helped me perform at a high level for my customers. Real Estate is not as easy as it appears. Those years of being a stockbroker made me battle tested for any situation that may come up. Every customer has a different real estate goal. My mission statement is to help everyone achieve their dreams and make it a reality. The skill of negotiation is something that gets overlooked. In 2020 Homelight awarded me the Top Negotiator for buyers & sellers. Since joining EXP Realty 3 years ago I have been awarded 3X the highest achievement. Becoming an EXP ICON Agent. EXP Realty has 90,000 agents worldwide. ICON is awarded to the top 1% in sales.
Being respected by your customers and your real estate peers to me is my biggest achievement. There is not a harder worker than Crockett The Rocket. I truly love helping my 55+ & Veteran Customers.
In a time where the real estate market has slowed, I have never been busier. In 2024 I am ranked in the top 20 agents out of 6000 agents in Brevard County. Work ethic and integrity is what I am about. My greates accomplishment is being a Father to my 2 daughters Celina & Chloe. As well as a husband to my wife Christina.
