With four phases consisting of varying housing styles, Weldon Ridge is a southwest Cary community that offers residents a convenient commute via I-40 and I-540. “The neighborhood has nice amenities,” says Hannah Chan, a realtor with Cary-Raleigh Realty who specializes in the Cary area. “Like a swimming pool, walking trails and good lot sizes.” Plus, it’s just minutes away from some of the highest-rated schools in Wake County and the triangle’s top attractions. “Cary has all the amenities of a big city, but it still feels like a small town. I love the family friendly quality of life,” says Ellen Pitts, Realtor and owner of Harmony Realty Triangle. “There’s always something going on.” Weldon Ridge has a CAP Index score of 2 compared to the national average of 2.

Housing in Weldon Ridge is often dependent on its phases. “They have a huge community,” Chan says. “There’s smaller townhomes to single-family to estate homes.” There are many two-story, new traditional and Craftsman homes with two-car garages and small front porches. The neighborhood’s single-family homes, all built from 2006 to 2024, sit close together and have tidy lawns with sidewalks lining the street. Trees fill the space between homes, and winding roads and cul-de-sacs lead back to major roads and parkways. Three-bedroom homes range from $600,000 to just under $1 million, depending on their floor plan and square footage. Townhouses in The Grove at Weldon Ridge range from the $500,000s to $600,000s.

Raftery Park connects to the American Tobacco Trail, which spans 23 miles through Cary and surrounding towns, winds alongside Weldon Ridge and offers great access to biking and walking paths. Weldon Ridge is also less than 10 miles from Jordan Lake, a popular recreation spot with public swimming, camping and fishing accesses around the shore. On the east side of Cary, Weldon Ridge is conveniently located within 20 miles of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. Residents can drive to almost any location in The Research Triangle in 30 minutes or less and are just 10 miles from facilities like Wake Med Hospital and the Raleigh-Durham International Airport. That said, commuter traffic from Raleigh on Interstate 40 can be heavy during peak hours, and public transportation is limited.
