Brightwalk is a planned mixed-use community 2 miles from Center City
For stylish homes, natural scenery and a creative outlook, explore Brightwalk. This compact hideaway in Charlotte's north end has a fresh take on revitalization with a one-of-a-kind living environment. The city redeveloped the Double Oaks area in the early 2000s into a mixed-use, mixed-income community emphasizing accessibility and a new neighborhood name. Unique to this project is the careful planning that went into environmental restorations and strengthening connections to surrounding areas. Brightwalk's updates have stimulated significant economic growth and social well-being.
High demand for Brightwalk's townhouses and single-family homes
Brightwalk feels airy despite its Center City location, and many of its turnkey homes have views of Uptown's sparkling skyline. Architects took inspiration from Charlotte's historic Dilworth community with modernized Craftsman-style structures. Single-family homes with porches, rear garages and tailored landscaping sell for $600,000 to $700,000. Townhomes also have a presence here, with designs in keeping with the rest of the area, selling for $400,000. "Prices here are increasing significantly. There is some inventory, but it gets snatched up quickly," says Brightwalk resident and Realtor Drew Ludeke at Coldwell Banker Realty.

Niche gives Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools a B-plus
School-aged Brightwalk residents can attend Bruns Avenue Elementary on its crepe-myrtle-lined campus. Many rising students enroll at Ranson Middle for the International Baccalaureate program and wrap up their studies at West Charlotte High, a long-standing local landmark dating to the early 1930s that earns a C from Niche. Charlotte locals also have a wide variety of charter, magnet and private education options to explore.

Art-filled green spaces full of walking paths
Reclaiming green space was a primary goal for Brightwalk developers, with an inspired concept that simultaneously celebrates art and nature. Art sculptures interact with the neighborhood's green spaces, playing a unique role in restoring the area's natural ecology. Some residents look out their windows to an illuminated installation that attracts beneficial nocturnal insects. The neighborhood's trail systems connect to the Carolina Thread Trail and its extensive network of greenways and blueways, stretching over 1,000 miles. You'll see cyclists and dog walkers making their way around the scenic pathways. Enjoy the public art as you take your evening stroll at Anita Shroud Park, and watch for upcoming neighborhood events.
Many talented artists are featured all over Brightwalk.

Shopping, dining and entertainment at Camp North End
You won't need to travel far for dining and entertainment here. Camp North End has won the city over with its rotating events, public art, shops and food stalls. The World War II-era industrial depot turned creative hive has a little something for everyone. When dining in town, locals turn to Brewton's Café, a popular neighborhood eatery serving a seafood-heavy menu and delectable desserts. When you're in the mood for a night out, head around the corner to the AvidXchange Music Factory, showcasing live music in its dynamic multi-venue hub. Brightwalk locals head into the city for weekly grocery shops and errands.
Easy access to I-77 and I-277, bus stops
Cradled by the Interstate 277-77 interchange, Brightwalk commutes are straightforward. A 1-mile ride lands you directly in Uptown Charlotte, and you're a 3-mile trip from the city's thriving arts district. The Charlotte Area Transit System, CATS, serves the neighborhood with bus stops dotted on main roads, convenient for those who prefer a car-free commute.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My neighborhood is a passing through point to events which take place uptown. The nearest attraction is the NC Music factory which is less than a mile away in a secluded area.

My neighborhood has a local park and community pool. In the near future there will be a green way and biking trails.

There are not enough of available jobs in my area. It is also less diversity in the type of jobs available in my community.
