According to Vann Boger, a Realtor with the John Bolos Group at Keller Williams SouthPark, this makes Brown Road an attractive option for first-time homebuyers. “Once you get outside [the] 485 [loop], there’s so much opportunity,” Boger says. “It’s just more affordable for people, and that’s really nice to see.” Most subdivisions have monthly HOA fees ranging from under $20 to more than $200.

“One of my favorite things about buying in Outer South Charlotte is that pretty much no matter where you buy, you are going to be conveniently located next to a variety of shops, restaurants and grocery stores,” Patton says. RiverGate, a large shopping mall featuring Target, The Home Depot, Marshalls and other familiar stores, is next to the neighborhood. Chain restaurants join regional favorites, such as Jim ‘N Nicks Community Bar-B-Q and Showmars, a Greek-American fast-food joint.
