A suburban lifestyle and lower home prices draw buyers to Griers Fork
Griers Fork is a suburban neighborhood in southwest Charlotte known for its access to family-friendly attractions and the Interstate 485 Loop. Here you can buy an established home for less than the citywide median while still being close to an outlet mall, an amusement park, and an array of local restaurants and national retailers. Lake Wylie and a handful of parks provide outdoor recreation, and you can commute to Uptown and several other job hubs in 40 minutes or less.

Single-family homes on spacious lots with trees
Along Griers Fork’s gently curving streets, you’ll find a mix of single-family homes mostly built between the late 1960s and the early 2000s. These ranch-style houses, split-levels, Colonial Revivals and New Traditionals typically rest on tree-shaded lots ranging from about a third of an acre to more than half an acre. However, some subdivisions on the neighborhood’s northern end offer smaller tract-style lots of less than a quarter of an acre.

You’ll find similar prices in Ayrsley to the south, lower prices in Olde Whitehall to the north and higher prices in Steele Creek to the west. “From both personal and client experience, I can tell you that the values of homes in outer south Charlotte have continued to rise, and homes in the area are often sold quickly,” says Lindsay Patton, a Realtor with the Redbud Group at Keller Williams SouthPark. On average, Griers Fork homes sell in 25 days, twice as fast as the national average.
