A residential community with above-average connectivity
Seven miles north of Uptown, Hamilton Circle sits between two major thoroughfares along Interstate 77. Despite all the car traffic, the area is comfortably residential — and its convenient routes into Uptown have made it part of a rapidly developing area. “It’s fairly close to Uptown but still quiet. The area around Hamilton Circle is very historic,” says Kenyon Harris, Realtor with Keller Williams South Park. Harris describes the area as a relaxed reprieve from all the hustle and bustle of Charlotte’s urban Center City. “There are some locally owned restaurants, though I’d say most people leave the area for entertainment. It’s close to everything. People hang out in South Bend, which is probably 10 or 15 minutes away. Northlake Mall isn’t too far, either. They’re also extending the light rail up Beatties Ford Road, which will go straight to Uptown.” With the city investing heavily in the infrastructure along Beatties Ford Road, Hamilton Circle is in a prime position to grow.

Midcentury homes stretch out on half-acre lots beneath lofty oaks, while houses in newer subdivisions line up in tidy rows behind neatly trimmed lawns. The diversity of housing stock in Hamilton Circle makes it an eye-catching area for buyers with a tighter budget who still want options. Brick ranch-style homes from the 1950s and ‘60s are typically priced in the lower $200,000 range. Vinyl-siding New Traditional homes built in the 2000s and recently built townhouses with three bedrooms push prices near the $300,000 mark, and spacious new constructions with Craftsman-inspired stylings can list for upwards of $350,000. “It’s an up-and-coming area. There’s some revitalization happening because the surrounding areas are a little more industrial, but it’s also more affordable,” says Jessica Fava, a Realtor with Lantern Realty & Development who recently sold a new home in the neighborhood. “Under $400,000 for a two-story house is amazing for Charlotte. It’s definitely attractive for first-time buyers.”

Local services in the area aren't that great. The convenience is really poor and our tax dollars are being spent on trying to make Charlotte into New York, but we have a LONG way to go. Also, if the leaders want that done, then I feel like they should take $ out of their own pockets to make it happen.

It is nearly impossible for me to get a job here because the places that would hire me are top locations for crime and the safer places won't hire me because of lack of experience.
