Silverwood is a residential community east of Uptown Charlotte that has seen a rapid amount of growth. Buyers have access to several HOA-controlled developments that offer a variety of amenities. The area is also close to multiple parks and recreation spots, as well as the shopping and dining corridors along Albemarle Road.

Plenty of new housing with HOAs present

Single-family architecture includes Colonial Revival, ranch styles and New Traditionals. Townhomes are also present. “It’s a little bit of everything because you get that older feel with the more traditional types of architecture,” says Jim Straatmann, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty Ballantyne Area, who has sold in the community. “But you got the new builds, which tend to be on smaller lots with good, starter-priced homes that are mixed in there with it."

Townhome prices range between $150,000 and $200,000. Single-family homes typically cost between $250,000 and $650,000. Silverwood generally has a lower cost of housing compared to surrounding communities such as Hickory Grove and Bradfield Farms. Straatmann says that homes out in the eastern portion of Charlotte are generally more “reasonably priced” as well.

Homes are typically on winding streets with smaller lots and young trees accenting lawns. Sidewalks are common throughout the neighborhood. Older homes with larger lots are also present. Some subdivisions are overseen by HOAs with prices varying by development. Straatmann says buyers should expect ongoing construction. “Like most of Charlotte, there is a bit of infill going on in the area,” he says.

I've been living on Robinson Church Road for some time now and really enjoy it. The area feels safe and is conveniently close to UNC, Harrisburg, Mint Hill, Matthews, Uptown, and many other places. It's a peaceful and diverse neighborhood with easy access to a variety of restaurants. Overall, it's a great place to live.
