Cedar Hill offers established homes, local restaurants and highways
Cedar Hill is a small neighborhood on the Georgia state line known for having some of the lowest housing costs in the Chattanooga area. . Early 20th-century homes make up most of the community, and many of those homes have been refurbished and updated with modern features. Popular restaurants line U.S. Route 27, including family-style spots that have been around for decades and casual dive bars where you can shoot pool and enjoy pub fare. Several major employers are nearby, and the highway provides a direct route north to downtown Chattanooga or south to Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Older cottages and bungalows make up Cedar Hill housing
Homes in Cedar Hill are often cottages and bungalows from the 1910s to the 1930s that have been renovated with fresh paint and modern appliances. Some houses retain vintage features such as original doorknobs and hardwood floors. You can also find some fixer-uppers, as well as midcentury ranch-style houses and new construction bungalows. Homes sit close together on densely packed streets, making it easy to get to know your neighbors. “The community is tight-knit, and it’s got an old-town vibe,” says Robert Baker, a Realtor at Zach Taylor Chattanooga with nearly a decade of experience. If you find a fixer-upper or investment property in the area, you should expect to pay between the upper $30,000s and the lower $100,000s.
