Homes in a Chelmsford neighborhood
The neighborhood was developed in the 1960s and has a mixture of ranch, Colonial Revivals and split-level single-family homes with brick and vinyl exteriors. Recently developed New Traditionals are also common, and most single-family homes in the area list between $500,000 and $1 million. The narrow, winding residential streets are densely wooded, and houses are often tucked behind towering trees. Lots range from half an acre to 1 acre, and houses have private driveways and garages. A portion of the properties may be in flood zones, and homebuyers may be required to purchase flood insurance. Outdoor spaces throughout Chemsford
Old Stage Estates has plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Several hiking areas are spread throughout Chelmsford, including the George B. Wright Reservation and parts of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. Thanksgiving Ground Forest is a 45-acre park that offers trails along Russell Mill Pond and through the wooded area. Adjacent to the northern side of Russell Mill Pond, Murphy Field is available for soccer games and practices. There are also some tennis courts by South Row School. Great Brook Farm State Park has more trails and is centered around an active dairy farm that is open for tours in the summer. Greener Pastures Riding Program offers instruction for horseback riding, and the Chelmsford Country Club is also nearby for golfers to book tee times.
Russell Mill Pond has a gorgeous view from all sides with walking trails all over.
You will find plenty of hiking trails in Thanksgiving Ground Forest, Old Stage Estates.
Farmer's Markets take place every Saturday in Chelmsford Center.

Community events at the Chelmsford Community of the Arts
The town organizes many community festivities throughout the year, including the Watermelon Festival, the Independence Day Parade & Country Fair and the Holiday Gift Stroll of Center Village. The fall festival features a petting zoo, live music, ice cream and family activities and games. The Chelmsford Community of the Arts also offers many art events and workshops, including the 10-minute Play Festival and the Broadway Karaoke Night. “The Chelmsford Community of the Arts is a place to experience the joy and fun in all forms of art,” says Lauren Cochran, who is the center’s executive director. “We have a gallery that displays artwork by local artists, a cabaret room, a community band, and we are also starting the Chelmsford Children’s Chorus. We also have recurring events like open mic night and karaoke, and we want to offer as many programs as we can to Chelmsford and to the surrounding towns as well.”
Farmer's Markets take place every Saturday in Chelmsford Center.
Golf enthusiasts can enjoy the course at Chelmsford Golf Club.

The area has several grocery store options, including Market Basket, Stop & Shop and the summer-long farmers market. Popular restaurants include Chelmsford Pizza and Rufina's, an authentic Italian eatery. Fishbones, which is slightly north of the community, serves seafood dishes and has a bar. Chelmsford Town Center is home to more local restaurants, and Chelmsford Mall has department stores such as Kohl’s. Walmart is 5 miles north of the neighborhood.

Ruffina's is a local favorite offering Italian dishes, desserts, and cocktails in Old Stage.

A commuter rail station in nearby Lowell
The community is largely car-dependent, and Interstate 495 passes through the town. Chelmsford is approximately 30 miles away from Boston, and drivers can take U.S. Route 3 to access the city. The Boston Logan International Airport is about 32 miles away, and the Lowell General Hospital is 7.5 miles north via Massachusetts Route 4. The Lowell Regional Transit Authority provides bus services throughout the Greater Lowell area. Additionally, there is a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority commuter rail station in the nearby town of Lowell, and commuters can take the Lowell Line for direct access to Boston.
Route 3, 4 & 110 are all easily accessible making it an easy commute.
