Canoers and kayakers take to Meadow Pond, and skiers enjoy the park’s slopes in the winter months.The Cranberry Bog Reservation is also south of Park-Proctor, offering additional trails through the marshes and cranberry bogs, 19 acres of which are still used for harvesting cranberries every fall. West of the neighborhood, the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail hugs Heart Pond, a scenic stop for birdwatching and fishing. The rail trail runs just over 11 miles from Lowell to Acton.
