The township boasts a strong economy as well, and acts as headquarters to several major businesses such as Swanson, Duncan Hines, Subaru of America and others. Many residents who are not actually employed in Cherry Hill also make the easy commute to nearby major hubs such as Philadelphia and New York for work.
New Jersey strives to maintain high educational standards, and Cherry Hill is no exception. The township operates 19 public schools including an early childhood center, 12 elementary schools, three middle schools and two high schools. Private schools in the area include Resurrection Catholic School, The King’s Christian School and the Politz Day School. Rutgers University has one of its campuses just minutes away in Camden. In terms of activities, one of the most popular places to go in the area is the Cherry Hill Mall, which attracts customers from not only the township, but from surrounding neighborhoods in addition to patrons visiting from Pennsylvania as well. The mall is over 16 acres in size, is among the top 10 largest shopping malls in New Jersey, and hosts anchor stores such as Macy’s, J.C. Penny, Nordstrom, Crate & Barrel and more.
