Established suburb with accessibility and generational owners
Western Hills is an established community on Cheyenne’s northwest end. The neighborhood is loved for its maturity in homes and accessibility. “The biggest things about this neighborhood are the lot sizes and the styles of homes,” says Steve Prescott, broker/owner at RE/MAX Capitol Properties and Western Hills resident. “It feels kind of isolated, but it’s accessible to many things in Cheyenne.” Its location west of Interstate 25 helps with that accessibility, and luckily for residents, the interstate doesn’t produce much noise. The area has generational families who’ve been in the same home for decades. “I’ve been there for 21 years in the same home. My two neighbors are original owners,” Prescott says. “It has a lot of original owners. There are some block parties in the summer, and that’s nice.”
The Western Hills neighborhood is located in the beautiful city of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Homes surrounded by mature landscaping and winding roads
The suburb has paved sidewalks lined every street, and every home is decorated with some green. “It’s a lot of mature landscaping. The trees are well-developed and protective from the wind,” Prescott says. “The roadways have some winding to them, and it gives the neighborhood extra character compared to a structured grid.” Residents often greet each other while taking walks and riding their bikes. Most homes feature a garage, front lawns, and exteriors different from their neighbors. Styles vary around this neighborhood, from midcentury moderns to bi-levels and contemporary two-story homes. Buyers can find homes built from the 1950s to newer properties from the 2020s. Prices range from $370,000 for an older ranch home and $778,000 for a larger home with five bedrooms. Homes can also be priced closer to $1 million. Western Hills receives a CAP crime score of 1, the lowest rating, and three below the national score of 4.
