Kids grow up and live on the next block. People don’t move all that often. Music festivals and area culture
North Mayfair is a culturally diverse neighborhood. Chicago’s Irish American Heritage Center, two blocks south, hosts book clubs, live folk music at its theater and food at the 5th Province Pub. There are three masjids within four blocks along Elston and Lawrence Avenue. The Salvation Army Mayfair Community Church holds services and offers community support at the neighborhood’s northeast corner. Lollapalooza is perhaps the biggest event in the region with an annual music festival in a four-day event. In 2024, there are over 170 artists performing live. Mayfair Fest is a fall festival with games, live music, entertainment and food trucks in Mayfair Park. The Chicago Blues Festival is another event that highlights the city's music history.
Gompers Park and LaBagh Woods

You can literally walk across Foster Avenue, hop onto the trail and not even feel like you’re in the city,” says Burki.
