History of Trumbull Park

Trumbull Park is predominantly known for a series of race riots within the community as a result of integration efforts conducted by The Chicago Housing Authority in 1953. Discrimination and violence increased within the community until 1963. Today, The Chicago Housing Authority has since suggested that the neighborhood is calm and is an example of a well-maintained community where summer activities and barbecues are common.
